Divyanshi BHOWMICK (IND)
WTT-ITTF
Divyanshi Bhowmick is one of the most exciting young defensive talents in world table tennis, combining modern tactics with a rare long‑pips style.
Early life and background
Divyanshi Bhowmick was born on 19 November 2010 and represents India in international competitions.
She grew up between Kolkata and Mumbai, and her serious journey in table tennis started when a table was brought into her home during the COVID‑19 lockdown, allowing her to practise for hours every day.
Playing style
Unlike most young players who focus on fast topspin attacks, Divyanshi has chosen a smart, disruptive long‑pips game.
She plays close to the table with OX long pips on the backhand, using spin reversal, soft blocks and sudden punches to break her opponents’ rhythm and turn their own spin against them.
Major achievements
In 2025 she made history by winning the U15 girls’ singles title at the Asian Youth Table Tennis Championships in Tashkent, becoming the first Indian in 36 years to claim this continental crown.
She also took bronze in U15 girls’ singles at the 2025 World Youth Championships in Cluj Napoca, adding a world‑level singles medal to her growing resume.
Competitive profile
By age 14–15 she had already collected multiple national titles and more than ten WTT Youth Contender titles, regularly beating higher‑ranked opponents, including several Chinese players at Asian level.
Her calm on the table, tactical discipline and unusual material make her one of the key names to watch in the next generation of Indian women’s table tennis.
Equipment
Divyanshi currently uses a Tibhar Alexis Lebrun Krypto Carbon blade, with a grippy hybrid inverted rubber (Tibhar Hybrid K3) on the forehand and Tibhar Grass D.TecS long pips on the backhand, perfectly matching her modern close‑to‑the‑table defensive game.
