Yuka Kaneyoshi is a young Japanese defender who has quickly become one of the most intriguing and unique modern choppers on the international scene.

Born in 2006, Yuka Kaneyoshi represents Japan internationally, having gained attention in the German Bundesliga and currently competing in the French Pro A league for Le Mans Sarthe TT.

Playing Style and Equipment

Kaneyoshi employs an unconventional modern defense setup, pairing the stiff Nittaku Goriki Super Cut blade with long pips on her forehand (Victas Curl P1R with 0.5 mm sponge) for heavy mid-distance underspin, and short pips on her backhand (Victas Spinpips D3 with 0.5 mm sponge) to absorb loop energy and eliminate unwanted catapult effects. She frequently twiddles her racket during rallies, pushing with her short pips to neutralize short, spinless returns and apply placement pressure.

Notable Results

Her senior breakthrough came in early 2026 with back-to-back titles at WTT Feeder Düsseldorf and WTT Feeder Varaždin from the qualifiers, followed by a semi-final finish at WTT Feeder Cappadocia. She also finished as runner-up at the 2025 All Japan Student Championships.
